Long-tailed Weasel

The Long-tailed Weasel is white in the winter and brown in the summer. Unfortunately, I don’t have any summer photos of this amazing little creature.

The males can get up to 16″ long, the females up to 14″, but the little one I have pictured here was only about 8″ long and barely bigger around than my thumb. They eat rodents that they find with their incredible sense of smell. Sometimes they eat birds, bird eggs, snakes, frogs and insects.
