Stretch Your Limbs

January 26, 2019 by Doug Rudnik

Barbara Lazear Ascher said, “There is a need to find and sing our own song, to stretch our limbs and shake them in a dance so wild that nothing can roost there, that stirs the yearning for solitary voyage.” Few ever get to experience that level of total-abandonment. Most of us are dedicated shoulder-to-the-grindstone-types that have more potential than we allow. What would your freedom look like? What is your song? What is the yearning stirred in you? What callings do you have stuffed in the closet of your heart? Would you paint? Write a book? Travel? Love? Sculpt? Sing? Cook? Rescue? In your stillness today, take some moments to journal your answers, and maybe first steps.

Fan into flame the gift of God that is within you!
