These are the tallest peaks in my home area:
Long’s Peak – 14,259′ and Mt Meeker – 13,901′

Known as “Two Guides,” or nesótaieux, among the Arapaho, these prominent landmarks can be seen a hundred miles away as you drive in from the east. They have captivated my attention for most of my life, and I have summitted them multiple times.

A photography goal of mine has been to capture the sun setting in The Loft, that flat area between the two peaks, and have attempted the shot in spring and fall for the last several years. It’s harder than it might seem! Tonight I finally nailed it! Ha! What a fun shot! My eclipse glasses really came in handy!
