For my stillness today I am reflecting on good times with family, and what they mean to me. Loving and being loved are by far the greatest gifts of life – having someone who will look you in the eye and ask, “How are you?” and then press beyond casual responses into heart-felt caring: truly listening, words of affirmation, hugs, prayers, celebrations. As Wynona Judd sings, “Tender talking and sweet little nothings that add up to the somethings that we can’t live without.” (Peace in this House, lyrics) This is the marrow of life at its best!
