I have photographed this high-mountain lake many times. I always thought it had more potential than it showed. Recent droughts have kept the water level pretty low so you get these huge dirt borders around the water. The Gore Range peaks behind me here are gorgeous, but slightly too far away for a good photo. On this morning there was a little fog rising off the lake and it was just the extra element I needed. It doesn’t take much to turn things around – hang in there this week!
